On this garment, we focus on the specific concept of life and death as highlighted in Carlos Luna’s works and reflected in his belief systems. Represented by “LA VIDA” (Spanish. Life) and “LA MUERTE” (Spanish. Death), his inversion of La Muerte as “ETREUM AL” underscores a multilayered message: (i) the belief that life and death are two parts of the same cycle, and (ii) the understanding that life is forward moving through time, while death calls out to us from the “other side”.
Accordingly, we placed "LIFE" on the chest because we move forward throughout it, and "DEATH" written in the inverse on the back because it calls from a space we cannot see.
Made entirely from natural fibers and meant to elongate the body, our Transitions Knit Top features a tailored silhouette and classic v-neckline.
