Bailen "Baiflix" Estrada: The Spoken Lens
We met Bailen about a year ago while he was documenting the creative process of Malik Yusef and Bad Kids. We kicked it, and spent time exchanging thoughts on the role of artist...
On this garment, we focus on the specific concept of life and death as highlighted in Carlos Luna’s works and reflected in his belief systems. Represented by “LA VIDA” (Spanish. Life) and “LA MUERTE” (Spanish. Death), his inversion of La Muerte as “ETREUM AL” underscores a multilayered message: (i) the belief that life and death are two parts of the same cycle, and (ii) the understanding that life is forward moving through time, while death calls out to us from the “other side”.
Featuring all natural fibers, the Watchers Knit Crop accentuates the human form cutting midway on the torso and following the curvature of the waist.
Fabric Content: 80% Merino Wool / 20% Mohair
